Mainely Fish Research is a relatively small consulting company which specialises in fish and fisheries concerns. Our expertise covers a wide range of research on fishes with a primary focus on marine habitats. We are internationally recognised fish biologists and ecologists. We have considerable experience in laboratory-based studies on the egg and larvae stages of a wide range of species, both with fishes which are commercially exploited in the capture fisheries and in aquaculture. We also have considerable experience in field research programmes ranging from shore to vessel based sampling. The company also has experience in the assessment of commercially exploited fish stocks and providing advice on harvest levels. The company can provide advice on a range of topics related to fish biology, ecology and fisheries. Our principal operational area is the northeast Atlantic, however, we can provide advice on a much wider area if required.

Examples of potential areas of advice or consultation include:

Plans for laboratory studies on the biology and/or ecology of fishes.

Sampling strategies for the qualitative or quantitative assessment of fishes or other marine organisms.

Evaluations of fisheries.

Workshops and short courses.
